Overview
Two days is enough to see the Lake District properly without rushing. We stay overnight near Windermere so the second morning starts among the fells rather than on the M6.
The itinerary balances a lake cruise, a proper mountain drive over Kirkstone Pass, and unhurried time in Grasmere and Ambleside. Walking is optional throughout — the views from the coach and the boat are the point.
